Eco-somatic therapy for our times
Dreaming Forest
Counseling
The once normalized gap between our daily lives and the polycrisis is collapsing,
and we need a therapeutic space that can support us through it.
If you resonate with that statement, you're probably a person who is acutely aware of the painful, scary, and disorienting changes happening in our world. Whether it's AI, genocide, climate change, ICE arrests, or something more local, you're feeling some feelings about it all.
At the same time, you're still dealing with day to day personal challenges: relationships, work, childhood trauma, old patterns that intrude on your decisions, or maybe struggles with anxiety or depression.
You're also likely someone who has done some inner work already. Maybe you've been to therapy, or maybe it's been more informal and self-guided, such as meditation, somatic practices, or other self-awareness and mindfulness exercises.
If you're white/of European descent here on Turtle Island, you may be curious about what it really means to decolonize. Or maybe, regardless of background, you've wondered, 'If "it's no measure of health to be well-adjusted in a profoundly sick society,*" what does health look like if you live in a sick society?

It's possible to work with both your personal life and concerns about what's happening collectively in a way that gives you greater personal power in all aspects of your life.
You do know you want to be more embodied, discerning, resilient, adaptable, and confident in who you are in your personal life and bigger systemic changes. You know you want to be engaged and creative around these issues, while still addressing the realities of your day-to-day life.
If you're nodding your head as you're reading this, or just curious what any of this looks like, I'd love to hear from you. I always provide a 30-min free consult to anyone interested in working together, so please reach out if this feels like it may be a good fit.

"Heart of the World" by Helena of Unique Ambrosia
I'm a licensed professional counselor, certified in ecopsychology and somatic inquiry.
I've been a practicing therapist since 2013 working with a wide range of issues, but my passion is individuals who have an aching heart for the world. I specialize in working with eco-anxiety, political anxiety, and collective rage-grief in the face of genocide, collapse, ecological degradation, and the crimes of empire in all forms.

Engage in a deep exploration of both your personal life and your felt experience of the changes in the greater web of life.
My approach is a gentle but curiosity-based, using mindfulness tools and somatic skills to explore your unique inner ecology. This ecology includes cognitive elements (thoughts, beliefs, mental images, and memories), body responses (impulses, urges, body sensations, posture, and repetitive moments), as well as the shape and movement of your attention.
We playfully explore your inner landscape in relation to whatever issue you want that day. It may be deeply personal - a relationship problem, memories from childhood - or it may be related to what you see happening in your community, country, or the world. As we explore, it isn't uncommon to see that they are deeply related, and so you are likely feeling both.
Profound insights can emerge simultaneously with a shift in emotional states, releasing survival energy, and/or recognizing unconscious beliefs. Our direct sensory perception can go from feeling like background noise to clear, crisp, and in the foreground of our attention, usually coinciding with greater clarity about who you are, what steps you need to take, and how to relate differently to a personal and/or collective situation.

Services and rates
Individual sessions: 60-90 min
Individual sessions last for 60-90 min organically. These sessions involve somatic facilitation often leading to trauma resolution and integration. These sessions are longer because we need to ensure your system has the time to work with the material sufficiently and return to baseline. $175
Sliding Scale
I offer a sliding scale to individuals who are invested in our work together and demonstrate a genuine need, based on availability at the time of the request.
